Call of the Wild
20 August 2019, 10:00 - 22 August 2019, 16:00 ( Add to calendar )
Teenagers in Coventry, Nuneaton and Bedworth are invited to swap social media for bushcraft, nature and survival skills with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust during the summer holidays.
The Call of the Wild programme is partially funded for young people aged 11-17 living in these areas thanks to support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery, offering three days of outdoor adventure at the trust’s Brandon Marsh Nature Reserve.
The summer scheme will run over two weeks – August 13th - 15th and August 20th - 22nd – from 10am to 4pm each day Tuesday to Thursday, with up to 12 places available for each block.
A packed schedule will develop outdoor skills, confidence and teamwork, and include bushcraft, building shelters, firelighting, tracking animals, mastering the art of stealth, identifying species, environmental awareness and ecology.
Participants are encouraged to wear camouflage colours if possible; mobile phones and electronic devices can’t be used to light fires or whittle a stick and are not needed!
Proof of address may be required on arrival.
